Rudd Iowa is a small community with under 500 residents located roughly 20 miles east of Mason City along the Avenue of the Saints.
As with most small towns in Iowa, the main employers are agriculture-related. These include the co-op and a local hatchery that provides chicks to people and businesses across the entire country.
If you aren’t looking to cook or drive to another city, Rudd does offer a local bar and grill where you can eat out. There are also a few shops, a bank and a gym.
Rudd does have a very nice park for its residents. On the east side of town is a park and campground. This area is home to a man-made lake that residents can walk around or cast a line to and catch a fish. On hot days you may even want to go for a swim!
In the summertime, you can also visit the location of the old train depot and check out the butterfly garden. Here butterflies will come to visit the carefully selected plants throughout the summer for residents to enjoy.
Rudd is part of the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock school district. The district offers 3 and 4-year-old preschool -12th grade. The school is located in Rockford.
