Rockwell is located about 12 miles south of Mason City and 10 miles from the Avenue of the Saints. There are a little over 400 households in Rockwell giving the city that sought after small town feeling.
The town is great for families. There are two large parks that one could take the kids to or just go for a stroll. The city also recently rebuilt the swimming pool to make it more of an aquatic center for all ages.
If you like golfing, there is a nice scenic 9 hole golf course in Rockwell. The course winds around a little creek. Almost every hole is either along the creek or you have to drive over the creek. This makes for great views on all the holes, but be sure you work out that slice at the driving range.
A full service campground is steps away from the golf course. With the aquatic center, golf course and parks nearby this makes for a wonderful getaway.
Some of the major employers in town are agriculture related in this agriculture centered town. Seed companies and the co-op are some of the larger employers in Rockwell.
Rockwell is large enough that it has its own market, bank and auto repair shop. Everything that one would need in between trips to Mason City.
West Fork School offers K-2 and 9th-12th in Sheffield. K-8th in Rockwell. 3 year old and 4 year old preschool is located in the Sheffield building.
