Manly Iowa is located about 10 miles north of Mason City at the junction of highway 65 and highway 9. This city of approximately 1,300 people was founded in the late 1800s thanks in part to the railroad that goes through town.
The railroad still plays an important function in Manly as one of the main employers is the Manly Terminal that is just north of town. While this terminal manages a bunch of different items, you will usually see it full of wind turbine blades, heads and towers as it is a main shipping location for all the wind farms in the region.
Manly has a local gas station/convenience store along with a dollar store allowing you to get most of your day to day needs locally. In addition there is a local bank that one can use for all your banking needs.
If you are looking to unwind, you can check out the local library, go for a dip at the Aquatic Center, hang out at the Bosworth Park or hit a few balls at the local Pioneer Town & Country Club.
Cost of living in a rural town like Manly is lower than in other parts of the state. Median home values sit around $82,000.
