Clear Lake is located in North Central Iowa 7 miles west of Mason City. The beauty of this resort community is that it sits on the intersection of Interstate 35 running north and south and US Highway 18/122 running east and west which puts it directly in between Des Moines IA and Minneapolis MN. Whether you're looking for a home on the lake or something nearby Clear Lake has a mixture single family homes and townhouses. If you are wanting to reside lakeside your pricing will run for a single family home $600,000 to over a million depending on lakeshore frontage, size and quality. If you are looking for more maintenance free living a townhome might be what you're looking for, on the lake will run you in the range of $250,000 to $750,000 again depending on size and location. Clear Lake is active all four seasons of the year.
Clear Lake offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities on both land or water. The lake offers 3600 acres of recreation with two state parks on North Shore and South Shore Dr. Camping and boat launch are easily accessible at both parks. Downtown Main Street Clear Lake features unique shopping and family owned restaurants. Main Street ends with Central Park located across from the Sea Wall which is adjacent to City Beach. We are fortunate to have an authentic paddle wheel excursion boat offering both public and private cruises throughout the summer, also known as The Lake of the Lake. Clear Lake Arts Center is located downtown as well and is a unique and engaging facility with several art galleries and gift shops hosting the work of local artists. Central Gardens of North Iowa welcomes you to relax for an afternoon picnic or schedule a wedding or anniversary party. Music lovers unite at the famous Surf Ballroom where Buddy Holly last performed.
